Openreach will be working on Fence Lane on Wednesday 18 May. The lane will be closed between the junction with Watery Lane south to the lane leading to Springfield Cottage.

The diversion route will be via Fence Lane towards Oak Lane, Wharf Lane, New Road, Newcastle Road (A34), Astbury village, Peel Lane, The Flash, Mow Lane and Fence Lane.

Cheshire East Highways closed Station Road (Mow Cop) near its junction with Drumber Lane on 4 May for emergency carriageway repairs. It is expected that the closure will last through to 6 May.

We do not know the recommended diversion route. Although Station Road is just outside our parishes, a likely diversion is along New Road, Newcastle Road (A34) and Station Road (Scholar Green).

In each case, traffic control will be by two-way traffic lights.

Western Power Distribution are working on Mow Lane, which will be closed until 4:00pm on Wednesday, 20 April. The recommended diversion is Mow Lane, The Flash, Peel Lane, Newcastle Road (A34), left onto Liverpool Road (A50), left onto Mount Road, 4th exit on the roundabout onto Pennyfields Road, left onto High Street, onto Bullocks House Road, Chapel Lane, High St, Sands Road, Church Ln, Congleton Road and back onto Mow Lane.

Cheshire East Highways will be carrying out urgent carriageway repairs and kerbing at the crossroads of Childs Lane, Wallhill Lane and Brownlow Heath Lane from Tuesday 19 April to Sunday 1 May. As a results, all three roads will be closed near the Brownlow Inn each day from 9:00am to 2:30pm.

Cheshire East Highways will be closing Watery Lane for “dig down investigations” between Monday 23 May and Friday 27 May. Pedestrian and (where possible) vehicle access to properties on the lane will be maintained where possible.

The alternative route will be via Newcastle Road (A34), Astbury Village, Peel Lane, Dodds Lane, Mow Lane and Fence Lane.
