Meetings generally take place in the Village Hall on the second Wednesday of each month, starting at 7:30 pm, except for December when there will be no meeting.
However, with the announcement of new national Covid-19 restrictions (“second lockdown”) expected to come into force on 5 November 2020, the meeting on 11 November will take place on Zoom, as in the first lockdown. The new restrictions are due to end on 2 December 2020, though if they are extended then later meetings may also take place on Zoom. See the agendas for meetings page for more details.
There are generally two meetings in May: one is the Annual Parish Council Meeting where, in addition to the normal business of a parish council meeting, the council selects its chairman and vice chairman for the coming year and assigns various responsibilities to its members.
The other meeting is the Annual Parishes Meeting which, although usually chaired by the parish council chairman, is not a parish council meeting — it is a meeting of the parishes’ electors and is an opportunity to debate any current issue of interest in the community.
Meetings are open to the general public, and there is always an opportunity for any attendee to make a statement or ask a question before the formal business of the meeting starts.
