Cheshire East is holding a 12-week consultation on proposals for the governance arrangements for town and parish councils in the borough. The Community Governance Review draft recommendations report makes a series of proposals, with accompanying maps.
What might this mean for Newbold Astbury and Moreton cum Alcumlow? Our two parishes are each electoral wards for Newbold Astbury cum Moreton Parish Council, electing nine and four councillors respectively. The CGR proposes combining these into a single ward and reducing the number of councillors from a total of thirteen to just eight.
The public consultation started on 6 September and can be accessed here. The consultation ends at midnight on 28 November 2021. Paper copies of the consultation can also be obtained from local libraries.
You can respond on your own behalf, and we invite you to send your comments to us (via our Clerk (email)) instead or as well.
