We've received Cheshire East’s proposals for the mitigation measures for Wallhill Lane & Brownlow Heath Lane.  They are contained in two maps and some explanatory notes, as follows:

These will be discussed at the parish council meeting (item 3 on the agenda) in the village hall at 7:30pm on Wednesday 12 February — see the meeting agendas web page.

From GRAHAM, the Principal Contractor working on behalf of Cheshire East Council to deliver the Congleton Link Road Project:

The main steel girders for the largest bridge along the £90m Congleton Link Road were lifted in place during December.

It marked the latest milestone in GRAHAM's work to construct the 5.7km link road. The steel girders span 87m over the River Dane – the largest of four road bridge crossings as part of the route. The largest mobile crane in Europe was used to lift the girders into place, the heaviest load of which weighed 135-tonnes.

The bridge beams have been fabricated using weathering steel to reduce maintenance requirements in the future.

Please find below a time-lapse video of the bridge beam lift.
